When updating between iOS versions on both iPhones and iPads email settings can sometimes be only partially updated/migrated between iOS versions for both IMAP, Gmail and Exchange email product types.

To resolve the issue follow the steps below:

Step 1. Access your iPhone settings from your app drawer.

Step 2. On the setting screen that appears, Tap on “Mail to access your mail settings.

Step 3. Then tap on “Accounts“.

Step 4. Tap on the affected email account.

Step 5. Now tap on the email account again on the next screen.

Step 6. Tap on SMTP” in the OUTGOING MAIL SERVER section.

Step 7. Tap on the first field list in the PRIMARY SERVER section (it should say “On” to the right).

Step 8. Make sure that the full email address for this account is listed in the “User Name field.

Step 9. Retype your password in the “Password” field (even if a password is already entered).

Step 10. Tap “Done” in the top right corner.
